Anticlastic Collection
My inspiration for this body of work was derived from a fascination with human form. Through hundreds of carefully directed hammer blows to the surface of the metal, the Anticlastic forming technique allowed me to conform rigid metals gracefully to the human body. Anticlastic forming gives itself to different types of metal and is responsible for the design and esthetic look of the work, as well as the organic curves given to the metal. Contrary to popular belief, metal is soft and malleable.
